Privacy Policy

Effective June 24, 2026

Our guiding principle: Your patriarchal blessing is deeply personal and sacred. We built Daily Study App so that only you can ever see your blessing text and study insights. We collect the bare minimum needed to run the app, we never sell or share your data, and we give you full control to export or delete everything at any time.

1. What We Collect

We only collect the data you explicitly provide when you use the app:

DataWhy We Need It
Email addressAccount login & password resets
Display namePersonalization within the app
Blessing text (sanitized)Core study functionality — the app automatically strips personal names, locations, and dates before storing
Study notes & insightsYour scripture references, language insights, conference talks, hymns, and personal notes
Study plansPersonalized study schedules you create
Email preferencesYour choices about digest frequency
Payment info (if donating)Processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number

What we do NOT collect: We do not use cookies for tracking, we do not run third-party analytics, we do not collect device fingerprints, IP-based location data, or browsing behavior. There are no advertising pixels or social-media trackers on this site.

2. Who Can See Your Data

Only you.

Your blessing text, study entries, scripture references, and personal notes are private to your account. No other user — including administrators — can browse, search, or read your blessing or study content through the application interface.

  • Shared entries: If you choose to share a specific entry (using the share link feature), only the people you give that link to can view that particular entry.
  • Administrators can see your email, name, account status, and signup date for account management. They cannot view your blessing text or study content.
  • No data mining: Your study content is never aggregated, analyzed, sold, or used for any purpose other than providing the study features you requested.

3. How We Protect Your Data

  • Encryption in transit: All connections use HTTPS/TLS. Data cannot be intercepted between your browser and our servers.
  • Encrypted database: Your data is stored in an encrypted database with restricted access.
  • Password security: Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. We never store or see plaintext passwords.
  • PII sanitization: When you upload a blessing, the app automatically removes personal names, family member names, geographic locations, and calendar dates before the text is stored. This protects your identity even in the unlikely event of a data breach.
  • Session management: Authentication tokens expire, and sessions are validated on every request. Account approval is required before access is granted.
  • API key encryption: If you bring your own AI API key, it is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage.

4. AI Processing & Third-Party Services

To generate scripture references, language insights, conference talk suggestions, and other study tools, your blessing segment text is sent to an AI language model (such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) for processing. Here is what you should know:

  • Only the sanitized blessing segment (with personal identifiers already removed) is sent to the AI.
  • AI providers process your text to generate a response and do not store your data for training, per their enterprise API terms of service.
  • If you provide your own API key (BYOK), requests go directly to your chosen provider under your own API agreement.
  • No other third-party service receives your blessing or study data.

Stripe (payment processor): If you make a donation, Stripe processes your payment. We receive only a confirmation of the transaction, your email (for receipt purposes), and subscription status. We never receive or store your credit card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
